St. Joseph Family Support Foundation Scholarship announcement

for the academic year of 2016-2017


In an effort to support outstanding local students pursuing higher education, St. Joseph Family Support announce the annual scholarship of $1000 for the academic year 2016-2017.  

This Scholarship is open to all high school students in south- east Michigan regardless of race, religion, or gender. Only students who are currently in their senior year of high school are eligible to apply. The selection committee will carefully review scholarship applications submitted by students based on the criteria listed below:  

  • Applicants must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0.
  • The attached application must be completed in full and received by the office of St. Joseph, located on 3605 Livernois Rd, Troy MI 48083, no later than December 31, 2016. Click here to download the application 
  • The scholarship will be awarded to successful recipients at the start of the 2017 academic year, with proof of full time enrollment in a 4 year college program.
  • The scholarship is based on merit, although financial need may be considered.
  • The Scholarship shall be administered by the St. Joseph Family Support Foundation according to their rules and guidelines.



St. Joseph Family Support Scholarship Rules and Evaluation Criteria:



Each section of the application and the required attachments are important. Here is what we expect:


1.      Completed application (Please review the example to make sure that you are not missing anything. All the sections are required. Do not leave any section blank).


2.       Provide an original school transcript.


3.       Provide a copy of your ACT/SAT score.


4.       Provide THREE recommendation letters.


5.       Provide a copy of the financial aid form (if applicable).

e. Awards


f. Time management 


g. Scholarship received 


h. Recommendation letters


Please note that the application deadline is December 31st, 2016. 


Any application beyond that date is automatically disqualified.
